About Vanguard Scholar

What is this website about?

What is this place?

Vanguard Scholar is a free space for students in Classes 9–12 to learn how to use AI smartly. Not to do your work for you. Not to give you shortcuts. But to make you a sharper, faster, more confident thinker — in school and beyond.

No login. No fees. No data collected. Just open, honest learning.

If you have ever typed a question into ChatGPT and wondered "can I trust this?" — this site is built for exactly that moment.

Simple explanation of what is AI

What is AI, really?

Artificial Intelligence is software that has been trained on enormous amounts of text, images, and data — so much that it can predict what a useful answer looks like. That is it. No thinking. No understanding. No common sense.

You have already used AI today without realising it. The autocomplete on your phone? AI. YouTube deciding what video plays next? AI. Google finishing your search before you type it? AI. ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot — these are the same idea, but bigger. You ask a question in plain English and they generate an answer that sounds confident and complete.

The catch? Sounding confident and being correct are two very different things. That gap — between what AI sounds like and what AI actually knows — is exactly what this site teaches you to navigate.

Errors by AI

What AI is good at / What AI gets wrong

What AI is good at

  • Explaining a concept ten different ways until one clicks
  • Summarising long, dense material quickly
  • Giving you a starting point when you are staring at a blank page
  • Suggesting structure for an essay, project, or presentation
  • Answering "how does this work?" questions instantly
  • Translating, simplifying, or rewriting something in plain English

What AI gets wrong

  • Facts — it can confidently state something that is simply false
  • Recent events — its knowledge has a cutoff date
  • Maths and calculations — it makes errors more than you'd expect
  • Your context — it does not know your syllabus, your teacher, or your exam
  • Opinions presented as facts — it sounds neutral even when it isn't
  • Indian specifics — names, dates, local history are often wrong or missing

How to use AI

The One Rule

Think before you trust.
Not "never use AI." Not "always use AI." Just — think first.
Before you copy an answer, ask: did I check this?
Before you submit work, ask: is this actually mine?
Before you believe a fact, ask: where did AI get this from?
Every lesson, tool, and challenge on this site comes back to this one habit. Build it here and it will serve you in school, in college, and in every job that comes after.
